Tapas & Café y Pastel Networking Events Supporting Latinos in Charlotte

Every month the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte organizes networking events to bring together the Latino and Non-Latino business community. We focus on promoting small businesses and corporations that are interested in expanding their offerings to the Latino community.

Last August we visited a very interesting Mexican Restaurant for our Tapas Networking Event, “Mestizo Contemporary Mexican Cuisine” with the support of State Farm, and Food Lion invited us to have a fun and friendly Café y Pastel Networking Latino Breakfast at the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.

Food Lion

Food Lion has been a partner of the LACCC for 8 years and supports 450 minority own companies on their diversity supplier list.

¨When you think about families today, the time is very important! Both parents are working full times jobs, they have after-school activities and there is not a lot of time to make grocery shopping. But when they do have the time, they just wanna relax and enjoy the time,” said Steven Harwood, Food Lion to Go Project Leader, who explained what is Food Lion doing to make the shopping and grocery experience much more simple for the customers.

“Food Lion wants to bring the shopping experience to the palm of your hand,” added Harwood when presenting the two initiatives, Home Delivery and Food Lion to Go!

  • Home Delivery, where a partner shops the groceries that you have chosen online and then delivers it to your doorstep. This service covers 82% of the Charlotte area.
  • Food Lion to Go! Their new pick up service where you go online, create your shopping list and a Food Lion associate will have it ready for you to pick up whenever you want to.

During the event we raffled 2 Food Lion gift certificates and 1 basket from their Minority own Suppliers.
