Grace L. Nystrum – Chair – Bank of America

GRACE L. NYSTRUM is responsible for driving the Hispanic/Latino segment strategy in the local Charlotte market. In this role, Grace will capitalize on the segment opportunities in the market. She leads the Hispanic/ Latino Leadership Council which focuses on three key pillars: clients, employees and community. She will bring together numerous functions responsible for advancing Bank of America’s overall strategy by delivering financial resources and expertise to customers/clients and the community through our eight lines of business and staff support functions.

 

Prior to leading the Hispanic/Latino segment in Charlotte, Grace served as the Executive Director at Camino Community Center, a local non-profit organization. Through Bank of America’s ‘Executive on Loan’ Program, she was on assignment at Camino from January 2018 through December 2019. As the Executive Director, Grace was responsible for leading a team to deliver on Camino’s mission by developing a comprehensive strategy to effectively serve under-represented populations with the wrap-around services, and working with community based organizations and local leaders to drive positive outcomes.

Before joining Camino’s leadership team as the Executive Director, Grace led the North Tryon Vision Plan Project, a real estate development initiative. And, was the head of Business Banking marketing at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Business Banking serves small to mid-sized businesses with annual revenues from $5MM to $50MM. She was accountable for driving national strategies to serve within Commercial Banking, as well as the creation of marketing plans for every marketing channel. As a bank leader, she was responsible for collaborating and influencing many internal and external business partners. Through her leadership skills, she repeatedly demonstrated strengths in acquiring and retaining clients, deepening relationships and advancing business goals.

 

Grace began her career with Bank of America in 1996 and has held numerous leadership positions in marketing. She was a member of the Consumer Bank marketing organization. In this role, Grace was responsible for developing and leading initiatives targeting the Hispanic market. In her tenure at the Bank, Grace has had the opportunity to launch Hispanic marketing efforts, managed Bank of America and Bank of America Merrill Lynch transitions for the Consumer Bank and Global Commercial Bank. Her positions also include the head of the Global Commercial Strategic marketing for Business Banking and Dealer Financial Services.

 

Grace serves on the Bank of America CAO Diversity & Inclusion advisory council and Employee Networks, including HOLA and LEAD for Women. She served as the co-chair of the HOLA Mentoring Program. Grace is the 2020 chair of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund advisory council.

 

Grace resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband and two children.
